About Green & Healthy Homes Initiative
The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI) is an innovative model designed to create healthy, energy-efficient homes for low-income residents while driving down healthcare and energy costs to taxpayers. GHHI has launched in 16 cities across the nation and is expanding aggressively to meet the growing demand for its model and services. GHHI collaborates with government agencies, philanthropy, and community service providers to implement an efficient process from application intake all the way through the housing intervention process. GHHI’s delivery model is based on its data-driven philosophy that public and private social investments are optimized and social program outcomes are maximized when the energy, health and safety needs of an occupied home are addressed comprehensively, efficiently and simultaneously. GHHI employs 50 people and manages a $20M annual budget with multiple funding sources, including federal, state and local agencies.
In December of 2023, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded GHHI a transformative $50 million grant as part of its Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program. This program is designed to build capacity in underserved and disadvantaged communities to advance environmental justice and GHHI will be leading EPA Region 3’s effort. Leveraging its 30-year experience in health and environmental programs, GHHI will use a strong participatory governance framework to build capacity in underserved areas and will engage the community through a stakeholder advisory board, partnerships, and mechanisms for providing direct feedback to adapt frequently to the needs of communities.
With this incredible investment in the organization, GHHI is seeking top-notch talent to join its senior leadership team to help drive future growth and impact. This is an unprecedented opportunity for a talented CFO to contribute to GHHI’s mission of creating healthier, more resilient communities for all.
