University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), a $24 billion health care provider and insurer, is seeking a Vice President, Medical Affairs for UPMC Carlisle.
UPMC Carlisle hospital is a 165-bed facility in the heart of Cumberland County in Carlisle, PA. UPMC Carlisle provides a full range of medical and surgical services with areas of specific focus including obstetrics and gynecology, orthopaedics, urology, and general surgery. In August 2022, UPMC Carlisle opened a new six-bed Level II neonatal intensive care unit to provide care for babies born prematurely as early as 32 weeks or needing additional time and support. UPMC Hillman Cancer Center also offers world-class cancer care in Carlisle, specializing in medical oncology, nutritional counseling and additional support services for patients and their families.
Reporting to the President of UPMC Carlisle, the Vice President, Medical Affairs is responsible for the operations of the medical staff activities and clinical initiatives aimed at ensuring the medical care provided at UPMC Carlisle is of the highest quality and is provided in a safe and effective manner. The VPMA will play a key leadership role in the improvement of patient services, physician alignment and satisfaction, and lead evidence-based programs, practices and activities that deliver quality, service and financial results.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree required.
- Five to ten years of progressive leadership experience in a similarly complex environment, supported by a demonstrated record of achievement and administrative responsibility.
- Must have ability to effectively communicate with senior management, staff, regulatory agencies and community organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, manage and motivate other senior level professional staff.
- Must have a history of positive medical staff and board relations.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Pennsylvania licensure or ability to attain one.
- Board certification is and a Masters degree in healthcare or business administration preferred.
This is a full-time position that will be performed on site in Carlisle, PA. Salary commensurate with experience with a generous benefits package.
