Chief Diversity Officer - Shared Services
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.
Providence seeks an experienced and knowledgeable leader to serve as Chief Diversity Officer (CDO)– Providence Shared Services. Providence is a national, Catholic, nonprofit health system, comprising a diverse family of organizations and driven by a belief that health care is a human right. Every day, 120,000 compassionate employees serve patients and communities through Providence, one of the nation’s largest healthcare providers.
The CDO for Shared Services role is unique in that it not only supports employees in traditional shared services functions such as information systems, finance, human resources and other administrative operations, but it also supports the Providence Clinical Network (which comprises clinical institutes, the physician enterprise, and the ambulatory care network) and the Providence Home and Community Care Group which serves more than 38,000 people of all ages in their homes or in a variety of facility-based settings every day.
The Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer is responsible for coordinating executive efforts to promote culturally competent patient centered care as well as diversity and inclusion as it concerns the Providence Shared Services work force. This suggests the above concerns also align with core values throughout all aspects of the organization. As a health care leader, the DEI leader maintains strong collaborative working relationships among senior executives, all clinical and non-clinical caregivers, consumers, community advocates and various external constituents, and ultimately serves as a team builder.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at Providence under the vision of Providence’s Chief Diversity Officer, who was appointed in 2021. The CDO – Shared Services will provide vision, leadership, coordination, and strategic planning for the design and implementation of an institutional-wide platform to ensure diversity, equity and respect for all staff, patients and their families, and other stakeholders throughout Providence Shared Services; including, responsibility for coordinating implementation of the strategic plan for culturally competent patient centered care (CCPCC) and workforce diversity and inclusion. This is done in partnership with other administrative/divisional units to ensure that all diversity initiatives are aligned with the overall strategic plan. The CDO will provide leadership and coordination for diversity education and assessment initiatives that ensure support of the mission; and related objectives and efforts that guide work toward expected outcomes. Successful candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Health, Healthcare Administration or related field (masters or doctoral degree preferred).
