The Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences (“the Society”) is a unique cultural institution with a storied history. Founded in 1861, the Society has been inspiring the joyful exploration of science and nature for 162 years.Today it accomplishes this mission through interactive exhibits and experiences at its two venues: the Buffalo Museum of Science and the Tifft Nature Preserve, a 264- acre restored habitat with five miles of trails and boardwalks. As an anchor institution on Buffalo’s East Side, the Society is committed to community engagement in the pursuit of embracing science to advance a shared respect for our diverse world.
The Opportunity
The Society is seeking a strategic and innovative leader who will be energized by the opportunity to advance the organization and elevate its mission in its next iteration of impact. Through building on the Society’s historical foundation and current reputation, this leader will drive the Society forward through intentional dialogue, creative collaboration, and community engagement as it works to be the leading cultural voice for science in the region.
The salary range for this role is $190,000 - $220,000, with a comprehensive benefits package.
