Koya | Diversified Search Group partnered with Medical Students for Choice on its Executive Director search. Our work resulted in the placement of Pamela Merritt.
Founded by medical students in 1993 as a response to the almost complete deficit of abortion education in their medical training, Medical Students for Choice (a 501©3 non-profit) works to ensure that medical students and trainees are educated about all aspects of reproductive health care, including abortion.
With more than 13 years of leadership in the reproductive justice space, Merritt has worked tirelessly to advance progressive policy through advocacy and outreach at Planned Parenthood Advocates in Missouri and Progress Missouri. Most recently, she co-founded and served as the co-director of Reproaction, a national organization that leads bold action to increase access to abortion and advance reproductive justice.
Merritt is a founding member of the Trust Black Women Partnership, and was a 2017 Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice Fellow at the Rockwood Leadership Institute. Merritt is a member of Guttmacher Institute’s Board of Directors, Honorary Chair of Reproaction’s Advisory Council, and is a member of the Our Bodies Ourselves Today Leadership Council.
