Storbeck Search | Diversified Search Group partnered with Columbus School for Girls to conduct a nationwide search that resulted in the appointment of Joe Powell as Chief Financial Officer.
Joe currently serves as the Director of Finance for KIPP Columbus, where he manages a $30M annual budget for four schools serving over 2,000 students and directs all aspects of the annual five-year operational and capital budgeting process. Responsible for managing finance, accounting, food services, facilities and information technology, he also spearheaded a sports booster program and teaches a finance class to high school students. Prior to his role with KIPP Columbus, Joe served as Research Accounting Manager at The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where he managed the post-award grant accounting department for a 2,000 grant portfolio of $163 million. Before joining Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Joe served as Director of Finance & Grants with Homeport, where his accounting responsibilities included the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, and financial reporting, among other tasks. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurial Studies & Information Systems Management from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
