Koya | Diversified Search Group partnered with Heights and Hills on its Executive Director search. Our work resulted in the placement of Carrie Zwiebel Bloss.
Heights and Hills is one of the largest Brooklyn nonprofit organizations serving more than 4,000 older adults and their families with a variety of essential services. The organization’s mission is to support older adults to age successfully in their Brooklyn communities.
Having dedicated her career to addressing the needs of New York’s most vulnerable people, Bloss brings a passion for non-profit organizations and commitment to public service to her new role.
She most recently co-led Project Hospitality as their Executive Director, heading up PH’s executive management team, overseeing the organization’s programs, finance, and operations functions. In addition to modernizing the agency’s infrastructure, Bloss relocated programs to spaces that better meet client needs and entered into a joint venture to develop supportive housing. Bloss also worked with the senior leadership to address the agency culture. Together they built lines of communication, trust, and greater collaboration between staff and across departments.
Previously, for over 11 years, Bloss held multiple roles at Breaking Ground. As Vice President of Leasing and Compliance she oversaw internal evaluation for all service areas, the organization’s affordable housing and government contract compliance, and the government grants management function. In a prior role, she managed several housing programs including a former Bowery lodging house that housed several dozen single men, mostly in their 60’s.
Bloss also worked at the New York City Department of Homeless Services and Children’s Rights, Inc. She currently sits on the Sisters of Charity Housing Development Corporation’s Manhattan board, and served as a board member of New York Therapeutic Communities.
Bloss received a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College in Minnesota and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School.
