We partnered with the Better Government Association to identify and recruit its Vice President of Development. The Better Government Association is a non-partisan, nonprofit news organization and civic advocate working for transparency, equity and accountability in government in Chicago and across Illinois.
The search resulted in the appointment of Amber Bel’cher to the role.
Bel’cher is a strategic and inclusive leader who has over 17 years of fundraising experience and possesses a love for connecting people to their passion through philanthropic investment.
She has deep experience as a front-line fundraiser and as a team leader who has managed complex campaigns, donor relations, board engagement, communications, CRM and data analytics, and prospect and pipeline development.
Previously, Bel’cher served as the Director of Development for the Chicago Humanities Festival.
Bel’cher holds a BA from Texas A&M University. She earned her MFA from Roosevelt University.
