Koya partnered with RAW Art Works on its Program Director search. Our work resulted in the placement of Alejandra Utrera.
RAW is a youth arts organization, rooted in art therapy. At its core, RAW believes that all kids should be seen and heard and that everyone has a story to tell. Located in Lynn, Massachusetts, RAW offers a variety of free programming from painting to filmmaking, for kids ages 8-19.
Alejandra Utrera is a designer, builder, educator, and manager who uses art & design as a vehicle to build educational Art & Design programs that transform communities. Utrera has worked alongside youth ages 9-18 to co-design and build public architecture projects, including greenhouses for local community gardens, furniture for women’s shelters, and a cafeteria for a local high school. Her work seeks to change the authorship of our environment and cultivate power in underestimated communities, specifically young people, undocumented youth, and communities of color.
Utrera has also developed corporate design programs for major clients, including Cushman & Wakefield’s first interior design program aimed to provide Google Bay Area with unique Interior Design solutions.
Utrera holds a BA in Fine Art, Furniture & Fabrication from Rhode Island School of Design.
