Medelene brings more than 16 years of executive search experience in both nonprofit and private sectors. She brings experience with the full search lifecycle, from needs assessment and candidate development to client management.

Medelene has successfully helped recruit CEOs, Presidents, Executive Directors, CFO, COO, Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Program Officer, and Vice Presidents for a wide range of mission-driven organizations. She has expertise working with K-12 charter schools, education reform and related organizations, colleges and universities, social justice organizations, foundations, and professional organizations.

Prior to joining Koya Partners – a part of Diversified Search Group – Medelene worked at Spencer Stuart, a leading executive search firm in the Technology, Media, and Telecom practice.

Her professional experience includes experience in healthcare at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan where she supported executive searches for the National Leadership Team reporting to the CEO.

Medelene has also worked in higher education at the University of California, Berkeley supporting a wide range of departments, including Undergraduate Admissions, College of Letters and Sciences, Residential Student Service Programs, Services for International Students and Scholars, Budget and Planning, Lawrence Hall of Science, and International and Area Studies.

Medelene began her career at a start-up boutique search firm, 1EXECSTREET, in the industrial sector, where she was trained in behavioral-based interviewing by Dr. Bob Chiron, author of “The Evaluation Interview.”

She is based in San Francisco, CA.
