Malissa identifies, recruits and engages with talented leaders for Koya’s clients. She supports the portfolio of Koya’s executive-level searches in both the higher education and nonprofit sectors.
Prior to joining Koya, Malissa worked as a Recruiting Manager and AmeriCorps Program Manager for Blueprint Schools Network, an educational nonprofit organization that served as the operator for the Paul A. Dever Elementary School in Boston. In addition to recruiting for all school-based positions at a high-needs turnaround school, Malissa also served Blueprint by facilitating AmeriCorps’ program compliance and supporting its member management for Blueprint’s Math Fellows Programs nationwide.
In addition to her work at Blueprint, Malissa spent six years in higher education student affairs at Brown University, George Mason University and Sacred Heart University. Additionally, Malissa worked at Phillips Academy Andover’s Institute for Recruitment of Teachers (IRT), an outreach program that empowers talented underserved and underrepresented future educators to teach and serve as leaders in both K-12 and higher education. As a recruiter and advisor with the IRT, Malissa supported an exceptionally talented cohort of pre-service teachers, administrators and student affairs professionals.
Malissa holds a BA degree in English Literature and Secondary Education from Salve Regina University and an MA in Teaching from Sacred Heart University.
