Chris Berger is a well-recognized Human Resources executive search professional with an extensive search career spanning 25 years. He has excelled in leading hundreds of senior executive search assignments in all functional areas of Human Resources, across industry sectors, serving clients ranging from Fortune 50 multinational corporations, to private equity portfolio companies, to start-ups.

Chris specializes exclusively in the Human Resources arena, leveraging 25 years of experience in executive search and a decade of corporate-side Human Resources leadership experience. His functional expertise areas include Chief HR Officer, senior HR Business Partner leadership, Talent Management & Development, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Technology & Operations, Diversity & Inclusion, and Labor Relations. With a deep understanding of the HR function and market, Chris is adept at identifying and attracting top HR leadership talent for his clients.

Following 10 years in HR leadership on the corporate side, Chris entered the executive search profession in 1999 when he was recruited into Korn Ferry International’s Human Resources practice and quickly became a leading member of the execution team. 

Chris subsequently co-founded the Human Resources practice at TMP Worldwide, which became Highland Partners in a spin-off of the executive search division. Following the acquisition of Highland by Heidrick & Struggles, Chris was recruited to further develop the HR practice at CT Partners and was later recruited by Diversified Search as a Managing Director and Human Resources Practice Leader.

After many years as co-owner of the successful boutique HR executive search firm Romano Berger LLC, he rejoined Diversified Search in 2017 to co-lead Diversified Search Group’s Human Resources practice, based in the firm’s New York office.
