About FamilyAid
FamilyAid is Greater Boston’s leading provider of solutions to family homelessness. Our mission is to empower parents and caregivers facing homelessness to secure and sustain housing and build strong foundations for their children’s futures.
Our program model is focused on preventing homelessness whenever possible; reducing harm if homelessness can’t be avoided by getting families stably housed as quickly as possible and mitigating trauma, especially for children; and providing wraparound supports, for both children and parents, that foster long-term stability. Through this approach, we have achieved a 64% housing placement rate and a 99% retention rate, far outperforming the national averages. Most importantly, our parents report that their children are healthier and happier.
Our supportive, collaborative, and diverse workplace of more than 120 professionals is ideal for a skilled, result-oriented executive driven to help children and families thrive.
The Opportunity
We seek a dynamic, driven, and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to successfully lead the agency in achieving its new 8-year, 2 Generation strategic vision.
Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the successful candidate will be a collaborative and strategic thought partner who can develop, coach, and lead senior team members in achieving the agency’s annual and long-term goals.
Internally, the COO will provide inspiring and effective leadership to support our continued growth and long-term results for families experiencing homelessness. The COO will supervise the Vice President for Programs, Vice President for Human Resources, and Director of Facilities. Indirectly, this position will oversee the management and support of all FamilyAid programs, facilities, and human resources staff.
Externally, the COO will successfully develop and maintain positive relationships with a portfolio of critical governmental and external partners that will result in an expansion of shelter, housing, and services.
As part of the agency’s executive team, the COO will directly support the Program and Personnel Committee of the Board of Directors and assist other executive team members in supporting other board activities and meetings.
