The Vice President, Operations and Women & Infants will lead implementation of the vision, mission, and strategic clinical priorities for Operations at St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH), as well as the Women & Infants clinical service line at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. This leader will promote and support organizational initiatives designed to improve quality of care and increase efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

Reporting to the President of SLCH and the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Medical Officer of BJH, the successful candidate will work in conjunction with leadership to develop and implement business plans to achieve organizational and regional goals. Additionally, the Vice President will direct the development of appropriate outreach programs to enhance the delivery of care in the area and will be responsible for working with outreach physicians to establish and maintain the program.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or related field. Master’s degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Self-starter comfortable working in a complex, matrix organization; able to lead a mixed clinical and administrative staff.
  • Proven ability to lead large scale change and prioritize the implementation of multiple projects over multiple years, across a complex, matrix organization while working with key stakeholders and understanding market strategy.
  • Strong executive leadership presence with excellent planning, interpersonal, problem solving, analytic (both qualitative and quantitative), and oral and written communication skills. Communication, team-building and team-leading skills are essential, as this position will interact with all levels of personnel and management.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships, quickly gain credibility, influence and partner with staff, business leaders and the clinical community.
