Children’s Health System of Texas (CHST) is the leading pediatric health care system in North Texas, the seventh largest pediatric health care provider in the nation, and the second busiest in terms of admissions and pediatric Emergency Department visits. A private, not-for-profit organization, Children’s Health is anchored by two full-service hospitals and encompasses a full range of pediatric health, wellness and acute care services for children from birth to age 18, including specialty care, primary care, home health, a pediatric research institute and community outreach services, among other forms of health care delivery.

Position Overview

The Clinical Integration and Healthcare Management Department is an organization established as a key element of Children’s Population Health business model. The Department maintains a continuum of care between points of interaction and the patient in order to assist families in maintaining health and wellness and improving health outcomes. The department utilizes a centralized system to access patient information to encourage doctor follow-up, preventative treatment options and health maintenance activities. Patient data is analyzed; children at risk are identified; thresholds for care are established and best practices are recommended to contracted physician networks while reducing costs and improving overall healthcare. The Department develops and provides action plans (protocols for contact points with the patient) such as school nurses, physicians and emergency medical services. The Vice President – Clinical Integration and Healthcare Management is responsible for designing and establishing a department responsible for patient centered care coordination of its assigned patients and the disease education of its contracted physicians and the identified population. The VP is responsible for building a department that is capable of utilizing a patient/family-centered, IT-supported care management system, interacting with the patients, developing outside contact sources (school, community and governmental organizations, etc.) and interfacing with physician networks to identify and address patient needs. The VP establishes process protocols, identifies healthcare trends, determines the right care for the right patient at the right time, targets reduced healthcare costs and evaluates Departmental performance against strategic short and long term goals.


  • Ten plus years’ experience leading successful care management programs, including care coordination, utilization management, health and wellness, quality improvement, chronic care management, medication management and transition management functions supported by information technology systems.
  • Ten plus years’ leadership experience in working with physician-led delivery systems, such as medical group practices, physician-hospital organizations, or integrated health systems, third party payers and private vendors of population health management services.
  • Ten plus years’ management experience in a healthcare setting with demonstrated success in managing teams and meeting financial and strategic goals.
  • Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience.
