UNC Hospitals is seeking a Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer to lead the 900+ bed flagship facility. Apply within! UNC Health is actively recruiting for a Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer for UNC Hospitals (also Known as UNC Medical Center), the flagship campus of UNC Health, a $5 billion enterprise with 13 hospitals and more than 3,400 licensed beds.  The medial center is the primary teaching campus of UNC School of Medicine and the UNC School of Nursing.   With 900+ beds, a staff of more than 7,100 employees, UNC Hospitals is comprised of N.C. Memorial Hospital, N.C. Children’s Hospital, N.C. Neurosciences Hospital, N.C. Cancer Hospital and N.C. Women’s Hospital.   The VP/CNO is the senior nurse leader for the medical center campus and reports directly to the President of UNC Hospitals.  In addition to the five hospitals that comprise the main medical center campus, there are two off-site facilities that are a part of UNC Hospitals.  As such, the VP/CNO also has matrixed accountability for nursing services at these two facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of progressive nursing leadership experience with 3+ years of experience in a senior leadership capacity.  Candidates should have experience in an environment of relevant size, scale and complexity and prior academic/teaching medical center experience is highly desired. Candidates at a minimum will be Master’s prepared and those with a DNP or relevant doctoral degree will be seen favorably. Licensure, or the ability to become licensed in the state of North Carolina is required.
