The University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources (AVCHR). Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs, the AVCHR serves as senior advisor to the Chancellor’s Cabinet.

The AVCHR is the University’s Chief Human Resource Officer and is responsible for comprehensive and strategic leadership of all aspects of the human resources function for the campus. The position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs and works with the Chancellor’s Cabinet to develop and implement human resource policies and practices that advance the strategic goals of the university. Through leading an effective team of 40 talented individuals in the Office of Human Resources, the AVCHR will continue to create a university environment that attracts, supports, and retains a qualified and diverse workforce.

The AVCHR will be a credible and influential leader, mentor, and developer of strong cross-functional teams and will demonstrate a commitment to sustaining a diverse and inclusive environment. The AVCHR and the HR team will collaborate with campus leaders to understand their HR business needs, develop solutions, and provide consultation and expert opinions. The AVCHR will also build and leverage partnerships with HR leaders within the UNC System Office to share information and best practices.
