About Second Harvest of Silicon Valley
Second Harvest of Silicon Valley (Second Harvest) is committed to doing what it takes to build a hunger-free community. That means distributing nutritious food to nearly every neighborhood in Silicon Valley, leveraging every available food resource, and collaborating with organizations and people who share the belief that hunger is unacceptable. Nutritious food is the foundation for a healthy, productive life. Even before COVID-19, Second Harvest was responding to a level of food insecurity in Silicon Valley that indicated there was already a crisis, providing groceries to a record number of clients every month (250,000+). They are now serving 450,000 people every month, an 80% increase over pre-pandemic levels.
Reporting to the CEO Leslie Bacho, the Vice President of Programs and Services will lead the P&S team (comprised of more than 70 employees) to create the strategies and outreach programs by which food and food services are provided throughout both counties. They will also be accountable for developing this team of dynamic and caring individuals and fostering a culture that centers diversity, equity and inclusion for employees and clients.
