Transylvania Regional Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that is part of Mission Health – a six hospital system based in Asheville, North Carolina. Transylvania Regional Hospital was named a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital for the third year in a row in 2015 by the National Rural Health Association. The hospital is in Brevard, which is 35 miles from Asheville in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. Brevard has a rich local music and arts community and is home to the Brevard Music Center, one of the nation’s preeminent music teaching and performance institutions.
The President/Chief Nursing Officer will lead operations for Transylvania Regional Hospital and will actively participate in the development and operations of the regional network of care. The role provides patient care expertise in the leadership and development of all patient care and support services. This position is responsible for the development and overall management of assigned clinical service programs with authority for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the managerial, functional, and financial activities of the services. The President/CNO is responsible for the establishment of nursing standards of practice and patient standards of care. The President/CNO provides guidance and direction for the nursing governance structure. This position represents the hospital regarding all departments and functions to the community, governmental agencies, and the public.

- Five plus years of increasing responsibility in hospital management.
- Knowledge of laws and accreditation standards applicable to critical access hospitals.
- Ability to manage organization, board, physician, patient, family, personnel, and public demands.
