About Mid-America Transplant
Mid-America Transplant’s mission is to save lives through excellence in organ and tissue donation. As an organ and tissue recovery organization, their work happens at the intersection of death and life.
For patients and families awaiting transplant, organ and tissue donation can mean the difference between life and death:
- Every 9 minutes another person is added to the waiting list.
- Each day 17 people die while waiting for a transplant
- More than 75 lives can be saved and healed by one donor.
Together with their partners, Mid-America Transplant is working toward a vision where organs and tissues are always available to those in need.
The Mid-America Transplant Foundation provides enhanced support to transplant patients, donor families, and the community. The foundation seeks to reduce the need for organ and tissue transplantation; increase the availability of organs and tissues for those who need them; and to improve the lives of recipients and donor families. The Foundation provides programming, sponsors partnerships and provides community wellness grants to organizations that support that are mission aligned.
