Intermountain Medical Group brings together 2,400 physicians and advanced practice clinicians, and 160 Intermountain Clinics, to provide patients with convenient access to high-quality healthcare. The Intermountain Medical Group Peaks Region encompasses providers across Montana and Wyoming, including a presence in Billings, Butte and Miles City, MT. Specialty care across the region includes Cardiology, Vascular, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology, Urology, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Pediatrics and more.

Position Overview

The Market Vice President of Operations is responsible for the successful operation and performance of the physician practice enterprise for the Montana and Wyoming Medical Groups and Provider Services, including St. James, St. Vincent, and Holy Rosary. In addition, the Market Vice President recommends strategies to enhance and/or grow physician services, establishes business plans, and monitors the overall performance of physician services over time. The Market Vice President also participates with a group of physician leaders who sit on an operating council to enhance communications and promote achievement of overall objectives.  The Market Vice President works in a DYAD leadership model with the Market Chief Medical Officer for Medical Groups and Provider Services.

In taking on leadership responsibility for the Medical Group, this leader will continue to align and integrate physician practices within the organization and align with systemwide processes and initiatives. The Market Vice President will need to develop credible relationships of trust with the physicians and leadership. 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in health administration or other related field is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience at a senior level managing physician practices and preferably healthcare system physician group practices with a sizable employed physician base.
