About the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists
The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (the Bulletin) is a non-profit media organization, publishing a free-access website and a bimonthly magazine. The Bulletin’s website, iconic Doomsday Clock, and regular events equip the public, policymakers, and scientists with the information needed to reduce manmade threats to our existence. The Bulletin focuses on three main areas: nuclear risk; climate change; and disruptive technologies such as cyber security, artificial intelligence, and bioengineering. What connects these topics is a driving belief that because humans created them, we can control them.
Over the years, its supporters, allies, and board members have included such prominent figures as Albert Einstein, J. Robert Oppenheimer, Steven Hawking, Andrei Sakharov, Jennifer Doudna and 40 Nobel Laureates.
