Position Overview

The Executive Director serves as an internal consultant to the health system, hospitals and physician leaders for the cardiovascular service line (CVSL). In concert with Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) physician leaders, this individual is responsible for ensuring a consistent cardiovascular brand and comprehensive, integrated care experience across the organization. The Executive Director partners with Piedmont Healthcare hospital administrators and local entity cardiovascular operational leaders to coordinate and facilitate the system-wide strategy for cardiovascular services that delivers a high quality and consistent care experience, while serving the unique needs of our local communities. 

The Executive Director helps grow and maintain a highly aligned and engaged group of quality physicians across all major disciplines and is responsible for the development and implementation of key initiatives related to programmatic growth, philanthropy, and research, among others. Additionally, this individual serves as the administrative director for the Cardiovascular Clinical Governance Council.


  • Master’s degree required from a recognized college or university in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or a closely related field 
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in strategic program development, change management, performance improvement and/or management consulting in a healthcare environment 
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare industry, ability to think strategically, and experience in business development and growth 
  • Experience in cardiovascular program management preferred 
  • Post-graduate degree in healthcare or business administration preferred
