The Director will oversee the clinical and administrative growth of 18 Hospitalists and 10 Advanced Practitioners providing inpatient services at a Level II trauma center. The Hospitalist Program is a significant component of the clinical care provided at GCMC and is expanding its role to provide efficient, quality care to the Scranton community. The role within Hospitalist Medicine will provide an excellent opportunity to expand the clinical program in a system dedicated to improving care. The Director’s role will encompass a wide spectrum of clinical activities and collaboration with subspecialty care. As the Hospitalist Department is an integral component of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, the Director will actively participate in graduate medical education. Additionally, the Director will be required to develop clinical research and lead quality initiatives. GCMC is seeking a charismatic and forward-thinking Director to plan and lead efforts that position GCMC and the Geisinger Health System to achieve these multi-year goals, thus transforming health care on a regional and national basis.
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
- Dual-degree (MD/MBA; MD/MHA) or equivalent business experience preferred.
