The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is the largest, most comprehensive facility for medical treatment, medical education, and biomedical research in Arkansas. UAMS impacts the state of Arkansas economy by generating 18,500 jobs and $3.92 billion expenditures annually. As the only medical school in a state with 2.96 million people, UAMS enjoys statewide support from Arkansas’ citizens and a cooperative relationship with the state legislature. The Department of Radiology of the College of Medicine in partnership with the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute (WPRCI) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, Arkansas is seeking to fill the position Director of Breast Imaging. The responsibilities of this position include serving as Medical Director of the UAMS-WPRCI Breast Center. The Director will also lead the research efforts in partnership with WPRCI. The UAMS-WPRCI Breast Center is an all-inclusive center that includes all digital mammography (with tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound and MRI (with a dedicated breast MRI Unit). The center performs all types of biopsies including MRI, Stereotactic, and Ultrasound. The Breast Imaging Division averages 35 residents annually in ACGME approved programs rotating in all categories of breast imaging and one Non-ACGME mammography fellowship annually. The Breast Imaging Division has three full-time Mammography Specialists located at the university and also operates a mobile mammography outreach program.
- Faculty candidates must hold an MD or equivalent degree.
- Completion of a mammography fellowship, be either BE/BC by the ABR.
- Medical licensure or eligibility in Arkansas.
