About Walton Family Foundation & the Home Region Program
The Walton Family Foundation is at its core, a family-led foundation. Three generations of the descendants of its founders, Sam and Helen Walton, and their spouses, work together to lead the Foundation and create access to opportunity for people and communities. In 2020, The Foundation awarded $749.5 million in grants to further its mission.
WFF’s Home Region Program is guided by the belief that the best solutions emerge when everyone can make their voice heard. That is why diverse, locally-led coalitions across Northwest Arkansas and the Delta are so crucial. Its five-year strategy is underway, working to build a more vibrant, inclusive economy in Northwest Arkansas and promoting equity through education and financial security in the Delta. The Program’s annual grant budget is in excess of $50 million.
The next Deputy Director, Home Region will have the opportunity to play a significant leadership role in shaping the future of this growing region with values of inclusion and community-driven change at the forefront, as articulated in WFF’s 2025 Strategy.
The strongest candidates will be highly motivated, entrepreneurial and people-focused leaders, energized to lead the operations, processes and planning for the Home Region team. They will serve as a key organizer both internally and externally, ensure effective and strategic grantmaking processes and be a champion for community-driven change.
The role is based at the Foundation’s headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas.
