Greenville Health System (GHS), founded as a city hospital in 1912, is a public not-for-profit academic health system committed to health care delivery, workforce education and development, and clinical research. Over the last 100 years, the organization has evolved from a single free-standing hospital to a highly integrated delivery system and now an academic medical center with teaching and research programs and a broad academic mission. In that time, GHS has become the state’s largest not-for-profit healthcare system and an advocate for healthy living initiatives, such as LiveWell Greenville, the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail and Greenville B-cycle, the city’s new bike share program. GHS is a health resource for its community and a leader in transforming the delivery of health care for the benefit of the people and communities it serves.
GHS has adopted a strategic position to become the dominant integrated health care system in the upstate of South Carolina by creating value through network expansion and clinical integration. In addition, GHS plans to transform health care delivery through efforts to become more patient-centric, more affordable, and create a healthier upstate. GHS is seeking a charismatic and forward-thinking Chief of Hospital Medicine to plan and lead efforts that position the Division, the Department of Medicine and the Health System to achieve these multi-year goals, thus transforming health care on a regional and national basis. This individual will lead a rapidly growing division of over 70 hospitalists covering 8 locations that will continue to grow at an aggressive pace.
