Launched in October of 2020, Tandigm Physician Services is a management services organization (MSO) formed from a partnership between Tandigm Health and Gateway Medical Associates.Exton-based Gateway Medical Associates and West Conshohocken-based Tandigm Health formed the joint venture to offer physician practice management services to independent doctor groups. Before creating the spin-off, Tandigm worked with Gateway for several years in value-based programs and the newly formed company continued to manage the practice of 45 physicians, 10 advance practice providers, and 165 employees who were previously with Gateway.
Shortly after the formation of Tandigm Physician Services, Gateway Medical Associates joined as the founding practice division of a newly formed medical group, PentaHealth. PentaHealth was established as a vehicle for practice growth envisioned to be 100+ physicians, with Tandigm Physician Services as the exclusive provider of practice management services. As a PentaHealth practice, Gateway will remain an independent medical group that’s both physician-run and physician-owned.
The aim of the new management services organization is to provide services that will enable doctors to thrive in a changing environment, including the shift to value-based care, the aging of the baby boomers, and the rise in telemedicine. Primary care doctors are in the center of all that and Tandigm Physician Solutions’s services will support the effective and efficient operation of practices, as well as the scale and evolving capabilities needed to thrive in value-based care. The CEO is responsible for all aspects of the operating mission of Tandigm Physician Services (TPS). Working in partnership with and reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO provides visionary leadership for the organization and demonstrates passion for the mission of providing strong administrative management support to primary care physicians and practice groups in the greater Philadelphia area.
The candidate who is selected for this position has a unique opportunity to create a legacy in which others will follow by assisting in the creation and execution of the strategic direction and objectives which are necessary to build a world class, independent medical group. In conjunction with the Executive Board, this person will lead the conception and enhancement of growth initiatives, board and administrative structures, policy and procedure development, new service offerings, technology advancements, and budget proposals. Ideally suited for an individual with innate abilities in building strategic and tactical business plans, exceptional administrative teams, and forging physician relationships that are cultivated through thought processes that are creative, collaborative, and decisive.
Experience: Preference of 5+ years of successful business experience leading the operations in a multi-specialty group practice or other related healthcare environment. Must have in-depth knowledge and skills in the areas of physician practice management, financial management, health insurance negotiating and contracting for both fee for service and capitated products, marketing, billing and information systems, and human resources. Needs to have demonstrated through past experience that he/she is capable of building an operational infrastructure that can support current business and projected growth for an organization with similar dynamics.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Business or Healthcare Management strongly preferred.
