AltaMed Health Services, based in Los Angeles, California, seeks applications and nominations for a highly accomplished leader to serve in the newly-created role of Chief Human Resources Officer.

Created in 1969 with a mission focused on eliminating disparities in health care access and outcomes, AltaMed offers primary care and PACE services to Latino, multi-ethnic and underserved communities across Southern California.  AltaMed is the largest independent Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the US with more than 80 sites serving 340,000 patients.  With a restricted Knox-Keene license, AltaMed manages full and shared risk value based care arrangements for more than 200,000 lives. Today, AltaMed is a nonprofit organization with  4000 employees.  

The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) position was created to build, enhance and lead a human resource function and team that will support the growth, strategy and mission of AltaMed.  The CHRO will serve on the executive committee of AltaMed and begin managing a team of 55 FTEs, with a goal to grow the HR team. We seek candidates with 10-15 years of experience in human resources within a healthcare organization, with a minimum of 8 years progressive leadership experience.  The successful CHRO will have a track record of building and leading strong teams and preference will be given to candidates who exhibit a drive for serving the underserved and an understanding of the population in Southern California who are served by AltaMed.
