Delta Dental of Missouri seeks an experienced, strategic, collaborative financial leader to serve as its new Chief Financial Officer. Position Overview:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for setting the direction, policy and procedures for all of the financial, tax and fiscally related business matters of the corporation, including the layout and design of the appropriate corporate structure for the parent and any subsidiary companies, the appropriate design and analysis of the revenue generation of the entities, and the development of financial business strategy for the continued fiscal success of the corporate structures.
The CFO is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team of DDMO. As such, the individual must possess significant strengths in the areas of strategic planning, insurance regulatory compliance, financial accounting and management, and must also be passionate about developing a strong culture based on mutual respect and continuous quality improvement. This position oversees the management of the following functions/departments: financial accounting to include internal/external reporting, financial planning & analysis, acquisition/management/maintenance options for required real estate, the revenue cycle (billing/receivables/collections), and manual/electronic eligibility. This individual must possess strong and effective communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Accounting or business-related Undergraduate degree required; Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Strong financial accounting professional with public accounting background and CPA desired.
- 10+ years of financial leadership experience within the insurance and/or healthcare industry is preferred, but adjacent industry experience will be considered; not-for-profit 501(c)(4) financial experience advantageous.
- Deep and current expertise in the full scope of financial responsibilities including accounting (GAAP & Statutory—GAAP required), financial reporting, financial planning & analysis, treasury, enterprise risk management, and IBNR/reserving.
- 5-7 years professional experience in Senior Management and experience working with a Board of Directors.
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the Corporation.
