The Berkeley Carroll School seeks nominations and applications for the position of Lower School Director to begin in July 2023.
Berkeley Carroll is a vibrant, independent, coeducational day school serving almost 1,000 students in Prekindergarten through 12th grade. Centrally located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Berkeley Carroll brings together students from 60 zip codes in all parts of New York City as well as New Jersey. Throughout its evolution from the original Berkeley Institute, founded in the late 19th century, to the present, the school has been committed to providing a rigorous college preparatory program and a hands-on approach to education that focuses on critical, ethical, and global thinking. Reporting to the Head of School, the Lower School Director is responsible for developing, promoting, and implementing the educational vision of the Lower School as well as managing its day-to-day operations. The division’s leadership team includes the Assistant Director, the Dean of Faculty, and the Dean of Students. An administrative assistant also reports to the Lower School Director. The Lower School Director serves on the Senior Administrative Team, working closely with the other division directors as well as the Assistant Heads of School and the Chief Financial Officer.
