MYSI Corporation (“MYSI”) was founded by a group of Methodist Men with an initial focus to eradicate homelessness by providing shelter care, temporary housing, and community-based case management support for ‘at risk’ youth, adults, and families who had no or limited housing resources.

Transitional Living Housing Programs provides supportive co-ed housing assistance, clinical case management support, therapeutic intervention services, educational/employment support, 24-hour advocacy assistance, group/individual counseling, community activities, and developmental disability services.
Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is a juvenile intervention program that involves the coordination of services that reduce recidivism, enhances case management services, fosters independent education, facilitates prevention support to reduce gang/criminal activities, and provides mentoring/counseling opportunities.
Independent Living Option Program (ILO) offers parenting & non-parenting support, case management services, 24-hour crisis assistance, budgeting & housing guidance, postsecondary education support, and counseling & community services.
Bridges Supportive Group Home provides therapeutic residential care, family reunification counseling, stabilization case management services, and facilitates recreational activities & weekly support groups.
Community Mental Health Services (CMH) is a clinical psychology & psychiatry program that offers community-based supportive referrals, psychological/psychiatry management, assessments/evaluations, nursing support & medication monitoring, therapeutic Intervention & stabilization support, and Medicaid counseling/case management services.

The Deputy Director will provide leadership and direction to fulfill MYSI’s mission, amplifying its services and effectiveness as an organization. The Deputy Director will elevate the operations of MYSI in order to position the organization to achieve even greater levels of impact, influence, and innovation – knowing that these external indicators derive from a healthy organization with talented staff, strong partnerships, and a solid reputation in the field. The Deputy Director will promote MYSI’s mission and strives to ensure the delivery of high quality, client-focused, and culturally competent social services. The Deputy Director must possess the emotional competency and cultural sensitivity to effectively serve and advocate for these populations.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Deputy Director is expected to provide leadership for the agency, so it may successfully achieve its vision and mission. The Deputy Director will provide oversight of the organization’s operations including the facilities/workplace, finance, HR, talent, compliance, and data technology functions. The Deputy Director will partner effectively with the Executive Director to provide the necessary leadership, vision, and management skills to effectively lead the organization through a period of critical growth and development.
The Deputy Director will be a highly visible member of the community, representing MYSI among peer organizations, community leaders, and other key stakeholders in Chicago and beyond.

Financial Expertise & Operations Acumen
The Deputy Director will bring experience running highly efficient operations & finance functions, partnering with the ED, Board and other Senior Leadership to ensure the success and wellbeing of MYSI. This leader will have experience prioritizing objectives and converting strategy into effective execution. Adept and pivoting and learning, this leader will be highly adaptive, with demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and learn new skills. The Deputy Director will have the ability to conceptualize and analyze problems and solutions in a proactive, constructive, and creative manner that will result in improved performance across the organization. Ultimately, the Deputy Director will have a drive for ‘getting things done,’ enhancing systems and processes and relationships.

The Deputy Director will be wired for impact and will ensure that the teams are optimized to deliver on each aspect of MYSI’s mission. The Deputy Director will have a proven record of converting strategy into effective execution. The Deputy Director will have experience affecting change in an organization, strong organizational and process management skills, and a strong ability to collaborate and create efficiencies across departments. Knowing that the organization’s models must continue to evolve to stay relevant to shifts in the market and in the community of people it serves, the Deputy Director will foster a culture that will result in improved performance across the organization. They will ensure that there are ongoing critical assessment systems in place to actively confirm that existing programs are meeting the needs of the community.

The Deputy Director must be able to build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels internally and with the various external constituencies including the Board of Directors, staff, community and a range of partner agencies and other institutions. The Deputy Director will be a proactive, transparent, and persuasive communicator who can deal effectively with people of different philosophies, backgrounds, and cultures. The Deputy Director will have demonstrated the ability to quickly build trust and credibility with people. They will have a natural inclination for developing strong relationships and networks. The Deputy Director will be inclusive, allowing for the building of consensus and recognition of teamwork. The Deputy Director will understand the need to learn the history and culture of MYSI and appreciate the complexities it faces today before making recommendations.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000 per year. Actual starting salary will be commensurate with experience.
