The Spence School invites applications, nominations, and inquiries as it embarks upon a search for a Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. The Director of Admissions and Financial Aid is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of the admissions process. This leadership role is a full-time, 12-month position. The Director reports to the Head of School and serves on the Senior Leadership Team.
The Director of Admissions and Financial Aid serves as a strategic thought partner and reports to the Head of School. Leading a team of five, the Director is the chief strategist on enrollment management and financial aid. Working with division heads, key academic leaders, and Chief Financial Officer, the Director, along with their team, is charged with attracting and enrolling bright, motivated students who also reflect racial, cultural, religious, and socioeconomic diversity and have the potential to thrive in a challenging, balanced curriculum and a warm, welcoming community in which they will be active contributors. In addition to overseeing the admissions and assessment processes for applicants to all the divisions, the Director cultivates important partnerships with nursery school directors, feeder schools, and access organizations. The Director reports regularly to the Admissions Committee of the Board of Trustees and the Head of School, manages parent volunteers, and is responsible for timely communication and marketing to families and key partners.
