The Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) is a 1,700-bed healthcare system headquartered in Valhalla, New York, with 10 hospitals on eight campuses, spanning 6,200 square miles of the Hudson Valley and approximately $3 billion in annual revenue. WMCHealth employs more than 13,000 people and sponsors 31 GME programs, with over 300 residents and fellows. WMCHealth is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Reporting to Michael Israel, President and Chief Executive Officer, and working closely with Gary Brudnicki, Senior Executive Vice President, the CHRO will advance initiatives that optimize the overall performance of WMCHealth's human resource function including talent acquisition, workforce development, engagement, and benefits. The CHRO will partner closely with the Chief Diversity Officer and others to champion initiatives that advance diversity, equity and inclusion goals. The CHRO will serve as a strategic and operational leader for WMCHealth, further aligning the organization's human capital with broader system goals.
The CHRO will be responsible for leading human resources for over 13,000 employed team members of WMCHealth. This leader will be a key member of the executive leadership team. The new leader will be responsible for the development and implementation of HR initiatives that optimize talent acquisition and workforce development strategies, leadership development, employee engagement and strong, collaborative relationships with employee union organizations. An overarching focus for the CHRO will be implementing best practices and optimizing human resources support to operational and clinical leaders that align to both the current and future needs and goals of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree plus completion of an advanced degree in healthcare administration, business administration or similar program (i.e., MHA, MBA) preferred.
- A minimum of ten years increasing responsibility in medium to large health system(s), with multi-site responsibility and experience implementing best practices, systems and processes, as well as skills in human resources standardization and transformation. Demonstrated experience working with employee unions is preferred.
