System Chief Financial Officer
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.
Overview and History of PMCN
Indiana Regional Medical Center (IRMC) has had a longstanding partnership with Punxsutawney Area Hospital (PAH) through Pennsylvania Mountains Healthcare Alliance (PMHA), a collaborative network of independent community hospitals. IRMC and PAH joined to form Pennsylvania Mountains Care Network (PMCN ) as the parent company in 2015.
This strategic initiative was created to preserve, enhance, and provide quality of healthcare for patients in the multi-county service area for both hospitals and create synergies of scale and sustainability for two well-run organizations. IRMC and PAH dismantled their Boards and created PMCN, having one Board and integrated leadership. The same individuals sit on the boards of PMCN, IRMC and PAH and a combined executive management team represents the common interests of these rural communities for the long-term. Both hospitals retain their local identities and operate as two separate nonprofit corporations operating two separately licensed community hospitals. While there is some sharing of human resources for the benefit of respective patient communities, each hospital retains its existing medical and nursing staffs, employees, volunteers, and community connections. IRMC CEO Stephen Wolfe serves as the President and CEO of PMCN.
One clinical example of collaboration among both hospitals included IRMC’s relationship with the world renowned UPMC Hillman Cancer Center that now operates at both hospitals. Both hospitals acknowledge the excellent stewardship of their community elected Board of Directors and medical leadership teams who never lost sight of the common mission to combine shared values and resources for all patients under one larger organization.
