Position Overview
The Vice President of Supply Chain (VPSC) will lead the development and implementation of the overall strategic direction and management of all supply chain functions within the organization. The VPSC will be the architect for planning, developing, implementing and transforming the supply chain process. This leader will work collaboratively with clinical and operational leadership to drive best practices and streamline utilization and overall value.
Children’s Wisconsin seeks a highly motivated executive with leadership experience in a sophisticated supply chain organization, ideally in healthcare. This individual must be a skilled strategic thinker and communicator with a strong track record of partnering successfully with a range of stakeholders including physicians, executive leaders, front line staff as well as patient and family advisors. Deep understanding of how to optimize supply chain functions and implement innovative approaches will be critically important.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of and skills in system-wide supply chain strategies, processes, and programs that support a service-focused, cost-effective, and centralized model
- 10 years of management experience in strategically planning, directing, and leading materials management, distribution, purchasing, and inventory management functions
- A master’s degree in supply chain or a related field preferred
- Previous experience in a hospital/ health system/ integrated delivery system preferred; experience in a pediatric healthcare environment also preferred but not required
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiating contracts for products and services
- In-depth knowledge of the following technologies such as Just In Time (JIT) and Stockless Systems, Point of Use Dispensing Systems, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and internet-based procurement transaction processes with exposure to broader issues such as Continuous Replenishment Processes (CRP) or Vendor Managed Inventories (VMI)
- Experience in working with and implementing large-scale automated systems
- ERP system utilization and implementation experience
- Skills in developing strategic and tactical plans to meet business objectives in a large healthcare system
