About Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh
For over 150 years, Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) has been committed to the welfare of people and the animals they love in the Greater Pittsburgh area. As a leading 501(c)3 in the area, HARP operates two, not-for-profit veterinary medical centers, two domestic shelters, and a wildlife rehabilitation center. HARP makes pet ownership possible by removing barriers, providing comprehensive support services, and seeing families through the lifecycle of pet ownership. In addition, HARP rehabilitates and releases native species back to their natural habitat, while also educating people of all ages on how to coexist with wildlife.
Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh is at an exciting inflection point in its evolution and seeks a strategic and collaborative leader to shepherd the organization into its next chapter dedicated to the welfare of animals, pet owners and their families, as well as the Pittsburgh community. Building on a strong foundation, the CEO will provide leadership and operational oversight of all aspects of the organization and continue HARP’s progress towards supporting and providing resources for all animals in need within the region while also serving the community with a variety of educational and community-based programs. This is an exciting opportunity for HARP’s next leader to partner with a dynamic, engaged, and motivated Board, committed and hardworking professional staff, and dedicated volunteers to elevate one of Pittsburgh’s most critical animal welfare organizations to the next level.
