Located in one of the world’s most celebrated cities for architecture, the Chicago Architecture Center (“the CAC”) is dedicated to inspiring people to discover why design matters. Through an array of public and educational programs, the CAC celebrates and leverages Chicago’s rich architectural legacy to educate, inspire and engage people everywhere about the importance of good design in attaining sustainable and livable communities.
Since the CAC was founded in 1966, the organization has grown to become an education leader in architecture and design, and one the largest, most well-known and acclaimed cultural institutions in Chicago. Today, the non-profit organization is the premier destination to start one’s exploration of Chicago.
The Opportunity
The Chicago Architecture Center is seeking a strategic, visionary and inclusive leader to take the helm of an iconic organization and steer it into the future. The CAC’s previous President & CEO recently departed the organization after 25 years of remarkable accomplishment and stewardship. With this next leader, the organization is poised to begin an exciting new era of growth and impact.
The President & CEO will lead the overall strategic, operational, financial and managerial responsibilities for the CAC. Building on its strong foundation, the President & CEO will work in partnership with the Board, staff, docents, volunteers and other key constituents to chart the future course of the organization, including raising CAC’s visibility, diversifying revenue streams, delivering high-caliber and engaging experiences and driving membership and audience growth and engagement.
