The Dartmouth College Library (Library) seeks an experienced and forward-thinking leader to develop and implement highly effective strategies for the acquisition, access, discovery, development, management, and long-term stewardship of its collections, information resources, and published content in support of Dartmouth’s mission.
In a rapidly changing information landscape, the role holder will provide vision, deep expertise, and active engagement with key stakeholders across Dartmouth and beyond to ensure that Dartmouth scholars are connected to information critical to their research, teaching, and learning, whether these resources are held locally or remotely, in print, digital, or other formats. The Associate Dean of Libraries, Collections and Content Strategies (Associate Dean) will bring creativity and ingenuity to the challenge of balancing continuity with the need to embrace innovation in the information environment and will map strategies to the changing needs and behaviors of faculty, students and researchers. They will be the Library’s principal liaison in regional, national, and international partnerships to leverage network level collections development and access, collaborative initiatives, and collective negotiating power to advance scholarly publishing for the benefit of the global research community.
The Associate Dean will serve as a core member of the Dean’s Library Leadership Team, sharing responsibility for organization-wide strategic and resource planning, organizational development, and leading new initiatives to develop and advance library staff, programs, and services in keeping with the mission and vision of Dartmouth College.
