Centura Penrose-St. Francis, based in Colorado Springs, seeks applications and nominations for a highly accomplished leader to serve as Chief Financial Officer.
Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, within the Centura Health system, is made up of two acute care hospitals with total net revenues of $920 million. Penrose Hospital and St. Francis Hospital have 238 and 276 licensed beds, respectively. Penrose St. Francis will be adding a third hospital – a specialty surgical hospital – to be opened in 2023. Penrose-St. Francis is part of Centura Health’s Greater Colorado and Kansas Operating Group, which makes up $1.8 billion of Centura’s total $3.8 billion in revenue. Centura Health, a faith-based, non-profit organization, is the Rocky Mountain and Central Plains region’s healthcare leader with 17 hospitals, two senior living communities, health neighborhoods, physician practices and clinics, home care, hospice and an extensive network of providers across Colorado and Kansas.
Reporting to the Penrose St. Francis Market President with a matrixed reporting relationship to the Operating Group CFO, the CFO will be responsible for the financial management of the market through direct and matrix oversight. This position will serve as an operational CFO, effectively managing the development of strategic financial plans, program-specific business plans, and annual operating and capital budgets. The CFO will drive cost effectiveness across the market, working other senior management as well as clinical and operating leadership within the hospitals.
We seek candidates who have worked within a large health system who have served as CFO of a hospital, region or system of hospitals. Candidates must have experience working within a matrix organization and understand how to lead by influence and collaborate across a system. We seek those with an operational finance skillset who have the ability to diagnose opportunities, influence organizations, and instigate change. Bachelor’s and advanced degree required; CPA preferred.
