Koya | Diversified Search Group partnered with Service Employees International Union (SEIU) on its BOLD Center Director search. Our work resulted in the placement of Mikaela Seligman.

Seligman joins SEIU from AchieveMission, where she served as Executive Director. AchieveMission is a boutique nonprofit consulting firm that skillfully blends adaptive leadership, race equity, and talent management to transform how nonprofit organizations lead and manage in these times. As Executive Director, Seligman launched and led a new strategy and prioritized building a race equity leadership practice ecosystem with many other skilled providers. Seligman is especially skilled at working across cultures and power dynamics.
Prior to joining AchieveMission, she was Vice President for Nonprofit and Philanthropic Leadership at Independent Sector. There, she helped found the coalition that designed and hosted the first-ever White House Conference on Nonprofit Leadership. She redesigned and taught the NGen Fellows program, a leadership development program for under 40 emerging leaders.
Seligman began her career as an elementary school classroom teacher and has served as a founding charter school leader, C-suite nonprofit executive, program officer, and coach in nonprofits and foundations across the nation.
Seligman has served on the national advisory boards of Equity in the Center and Fund the People; is the Chair of the Governance Committee of the Board of Directors at Mundo Verde, a diverse Washington DC Public Charter School; and was selected for the first cohort of “Seeding Disruption” in Washington, DC in 2017.
Seligman has a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School and a Certificate in Executive Coaching from Georgetown University.
