We partnered with Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation on the search for a Director of Major Gifts and Individual Giving. The Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation constitutes a unique dance institution committed to quality repertory performances, Arts In Education activities, and professional dance training for all people, regardless of race, background, or economic status.
Our work resulted in the recruitment of Matthew James Talaugon to the role.
Talaugon is an enrolled tribal member of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians located in Santa Ynez, CA. Having had a notable career as a professional dancer and continuing his practice as a faculty member at Peridance Center, Talaugon has navigated a dynamic pathway within the arts and culture sector.
Prior to joining Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation as Director of Individual Giving & Major Gifts, Talaugon served as Deputy Director and Chief Development Officer at Free Arts NYC and Interim Director of Individual Giving at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Talaugon’s innovative and results driven approach to philanthropy champions diversity, equity, access, and inclusion, while centering organizational mission advancement and impact.
Talaugon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Loyola Marymount University. He earned his Master of Fine Arts in Performance and Choreography from New York University.
