Kamalika Sandell

Diversified Search and Koya partnered with the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) on its Vice Provost and Chief Information Officer search. Our work resulted in the placement of Kamalika Sandell in this role.

NJIT is the state’s public polytechnic university – offering 128 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in six specialized schools instructed by expert faculty, 98 percent of whom hold the highest degree in their field. NJIT’s academic programs are fully accredited by the appropriate accrediting boards, commissions, and associations such as Middle States, ABET, and NAAB.

Sandell joined NJIT from American University where she served as the Associate Chief Information Officer. She also has extensive private sector experience at companies including CapitalOne, Cummins, and PepsiCo.

Sandell has 25+ years’ experience leading initiatives with P&L responsibilities from $20M-$200M in global companies with ambitious targets across multiple industries – financial services, higher education, manufacturing, industrial, and retail. Sandell has built organizations from the ground-up, led divisions through multiple rounds of modernization, managed distributed teams, transformed practices incorporating agile, and established a culture of learning where innovation is an operating norm.

Sandell is a member of several national and international committees and a frequent speaker on digital, analytics, and governance in organizations.

Sandell received a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from Jadavpur University in India. She holds a master’s in organization development from American University.
