Koya partnered with MIT Libraries on the search for an Associate Director for Collections. MIT Libraries aspires to advance knowledge by providing a trusted foundation for the generation, dissemination, use, creative engagement with, and preservation of information. Our work led to the recruitment of Erin Stalberg to the role.
Stalberg joined MIT from Mount Holyoke College, where she served as Director of Discovery and Access, where she led staff in the discovery and access of library and archival collections and coordinated the College’s initiatives to improve technology accessibility, supporting Mount Holyoke’s commitments to making campus programs, resources, and services readily accessible to all.
In her 23 years in academic libraries, Stalberg has also held positions at North Carolina State University, the University of Virginia, and at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
In spring 2007, she sailed around the world as the Librarian for Semester at Sea.
Stalberg has taught as an adjunct in the library science program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and at Simmons University’s School of Library and Information Science.
Nationally, she is active in the American Library Association (ALA), currently serving as a member of ALA Council.
Stalberg holds a Bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College. She earned a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Drexel University.
