Larissa Newton is the Director, Digital Communications for Diversified Search Group. She oversees the company’s website, social media, and intranet. She strives to provide the best user experience for our clients and colleagues on all digital platforms.
Prior to joining Diversified Search Group, she was Digital Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She again oversaw the department’s public-facing websites and social media presence. During her tenure, she worked with the Communications Office to inform the public, stakeholders, and legislators on important transportation-related issues such as future-focused funding, safety, automated vehicles, and more.
Before entering public service, Larissa held various roles as a copy editor, page designer, and web editor for the Central Penn Business Journal in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and The Sentinel newspaper in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Larissa was given a 2021 Star of Excellence award by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for her digital work on the PennDOT Pathways transportation funding program. In 2018, she graduated from PennDOT’s LEAD Program, a monthslong series of workshops and projects to promote leadership, education, achievement, and development among women. She was also named a 2014 Young Leaders Scholar by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) and was subsequently asked to serve on their board (2014-2016). She was also given the 2014 Robinson Prize by the American Copy Editors Society.
Larissa graduated in 2007 from Lehigh University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with minors in theater and Russian studies. She lives in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, with her husband, daughter, and son.
