As a Senior Search Associate, Amber ensures that searches run smoothly, efficiently, and result in the placement of top-tier candidates with Koya’s clients. She supports a Managing Director in searches for mission-driven organizations focused on social justice and advocacy.
Amber has always worked in mission-driven organizations. Most recently, she was the inaugural Development and Communications Manager for Y2Y Network the nation’s first youth-led shelter for young adults experiencing homelessness. Previously, she was an AmeriCorps Volunteer with the United Way of Monterey County, a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya, and a Peace Corps Recruiter out of the Pacific Northwest Office.
Amber is passionate about the democratization of philanthropy and the unique power and ways in which diverse women participate in philanthropy. She is currently a Fellow with the women’s collective giving group: The Philanthropy Connection (TPC). As a Fellow she participates in TPC’s grant selection process as a Finance Lead, is a member of the Grants Writing Committee, and enjoys volunteering with grantees.
